Bali
became so popular because it has something for everyone. You’ll find all kinds
of travelers there. They all come to Bali because one reason ! Bali has to
offer is unlike any other tourist destination in the world (It’s an excellent
value for a good price, but it isn’t for local people of course). Beside that, Bali
offers diverse tourist attractions and adventures, authentic cultural food, and
friendly local people. Bali is more than just destination. This places the
epitome of an exotic paradise. You can find a lively beaches, magnificicent
temples, volcanic mountains, world-class surfing, endless rice terrace.
The
things I don’t like, This island has been overrun by mass tourism over the past
years. Although Bali is a huge island, but whenever you’ll go, you’ll find a
many tourist. But if you wanna takes over four hours to drive from the southern
tip to the north. You can still find less tourist spots in Bali and enjoy a
laidback lifestyle far away from the crowds..
OK,
now I’ll help you to make Bali Bucket List (Things You Can't Miss in Bali) ! There are so many things
to do when you go to Bali, So enjoy my blog. It will give you a good impression
of Bali within a seconds.
10 THINGS YOU CAN'T MISS IN BALI :
1. See the Uluwatu Sea Temple and Enjoy the Sunset Kecak Dance Show
These
are one of the most incredible views you will see in Bali. The stunning cliff
side temple is one of the places I love in Bali. The temple is one more famous
temple sites on Bali. Uluwatu temple is renowed for magnificent location,
perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 meters above sea level (IT was
COOL, isn’t it?). The best time to see Pura Luhur Uluwatu is at Sunset (It can
get very crowded), I would suggest getting there early (Maybe closer to 04.00
pm or so). This will give you enough time to see the temple and still have time
enough to get good seats for Kecak dance performance which runs from 6-7 pm. Be
enchanted by this dramatic acapella chant as the Balinese people perform a fire
dance ritual at the rhythm of trance with no instruments, but only men voices.
This is one of the most famous Balinese Performance and is a MUST-SEE in BALI !
Don’t forget to dress appropriately for the temple visit, you should wear something that covers most of your body, or at least your legs, you might also be required to wear sarong and a sash.
Anyway,
beware of the monkeys, they snatch your stuff. Try not to bring much stuff.
Don’t interact with them or feed them.
2. Soar High Above the Beach Parasailing
Are you
afraid of high ? Trust me, Try this. I totally hated with high ! but I
love so much Beach Parasailing. It was an awesome experience and so much
fun. Flying high and kiss on the sky, It
was absolutely great moment. Condition on the island are excellent for this. Parasailing
in Bali is beautiful and one of the cheapest places I’ve found yet. Amazing
views, great atmosphere and a total joy. If you still afraid, don’t worry you
can try another water activities. They offers many kinds of challenging water
activities like jet ski, banana boat, scuba-diving, sea walker. Don’t forget to
bring your GoPro to get some good photos of the beaches in Bali from above.
3. Don’t
miss the magic burial of Trunyan
This
is recommended for you who loves spiritual and mystical experience. Visiting
the cemetery of Trunyan is one of the most interesting and culturally enriching
things to do in Bali, or even in Indonesia. The burial place belongs to the
Trunyan Village, where the locals call themselves “tree people”, because of their
traditions regarding the passing of a loved one. Trunyan people use an ancient
magical funeral method which they have preserved for centuries. They don’t bury
the passing ones, but instead they lay down the bodies on the ground and cover
them with woven bamboo (Serem kan ya! Cocok banget dijadiin lokasi Uji nyali "Dunia Lain").
It is said the magical Taru Menyan tree absorbs the smell and that is why the
area doesn’t have the smell bad. It’s kind of place that you need to see to
believe it exist!
4. Explore Local Villages and Visit The Tegallang Rice Terraces of Bali
Bali
wouldn’t be Bali without the endless rice terraces in all shades of green. You
can find rice terraces with breathtaking panoramic views all over Bali. A
perfect way to experience the local lifestyle is to spend some time with a
local people activity, right ? I recommend to hire a motorbike and drive
yourself to the rice terraces. The ride itself will be amazing. You’ll get the
most spectacular views during sunset or even better, during sunrise. Come as
early as possible to avoid the crowds. But I highly recommend you try to
cycling ! Cycling it will give you best
experience. Some of the most amazing views will be right in front of you and
you’ll learn so much how about locals live on a day to day bases. You’ll also
get to meet a few Indonesian farmers and find out tons about culture habits and
customs. Don’t forget to bring your camera ! This place will give you great scenic
photography. You can also see beautiful view from the café. Great place to relax
at a café overlooking the views and have some coffee, tea or juice.
Warn ! Best time time to visit
however is before they harvested, so all looks very green and beautiful (We can
saw last May-June)
5. Indulge in Classic Local Dishes
Bali
is one of the few regions in Indonesia where the major religion and culture is
Hindu, not muslim. But don’t worry, there are many restaurant serve a Halal
Food. Ayam Betutu Pak Man and Ayam Betutu khas Gilimanuk is a two of the Popular Halal Restaurant in Bali. You don’t have to go to high-end restaurant to try Sate
lilit and Ayam Betutu. Don’t miss tucking into mouthwatering local favourites.
Prepare your taste buds as the flavours are truly explosive !
6. Hike Mount Batur for Sunrise
Tik Tok, If you hard to wake up early ! Just mention ur friend to wake you up or set the alarm super early (Kalo boleh saran sih gak usah tidur sekalian ya, Begadang sekali kali mah gpp, kan begadangnya ada perlunya) because you can’t miss this place. Yap you should try to hike Mount Batur for Sunrise. One of the most beautiful sunrise in Bali is from the summit of the mount Batur standing at 1700 meters. The active volcano is the most popular trek in Bali. The trek to catch the sunrise starts at about 4 pm and it usually takes 2 hours to summit. The hike up mount batur is challenging, steep and lots of loose gravel/volcanic rock. But, after you make it to the top of Mount Batur you’ll realize is totally worth it. You see the sun rising, the fresh morning air, the beautiful lots of star. Once you got to the top you forgot about all the hard work climbing up. This is gonna be your favourite things to do in Bali ! But I suggest to you it may not be recommended for people with a weakness.
7. Get Lost in The Ancient Temples of Bali
Bali
is sometimes called “the land of 1000 temple” but it has been estimated that
there may be up to 20000 temples of various sizes on the island. But I don’t
write at all. But I give you some recommend Temples in Bali. The biggest and
holiest of all temples is Pura Bekasih, the “Mother Temple” 3000 feet high at
Mount Agung. Sunset at Pura Tanah Lot is one of Bali best photos opportunities
with its perch on roacky outcropping. The stunning temple is always crowded,
even though access to it is limited to low tid. Pura Taman Ayun was built in
the 1600’s and is a stunning example of royal public temple. Gunung Kawu Sebatu
Temple, locally referred to as Pura Tirta Dawa Gunung Kawi Sebatu, is distinctly
different, as it’s one of the least visited temple complexes. Beautiful and
peaceful, it contains a petirtaan or bathing structure spouting fresh sping
water for the Hindu ritual purification bath. You don’t need to visit all of
them, but make sure to explore a few of these peaceful places.
I
warn you to dress modest and cover your kness and shoulders when visiting the
sites.
8. Shop Until You Drop
Bali is shopping paradise. You’ll find anything from cheap sun glasses to high end designer label outlets. I have to admit that shopping is usally not one of my favorite things to do. But the bargains and deals you get in Bali are crazy and hard yo resist . You need to bargain hard, though (Cucok sekali sama bu ibu yang doyan nawar sadis nih !). There was a many location for shopping. If you wanna find a cheap things you can go to Ubud Art Market and Sukowati Art Market. Here you can find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, hats, and money other hand-crafted good. If you wanna find international brand store, sophicated shops selling local designs, beautiful painting store and antiques outles, you can go to famous landmark in central Ubud. Along the street you may easily find that.
9. Enjoy the view from Luxury Resort or Café/Restaurant
Try
to treat yourself lil bit. I’m not saying you should splurge for long time in 5-star
hotels, but you can start with an extended weekend or a couple days. You
deserve it! Bali is home to among the best luxury hotels and most luxurious
resorts in the world. I give you recommend Ayana Resort and Spa Bali in
Jimbaran. It was the perfect place to celebrate in style and relax in an
amazing environment!
If
you don’t have much money to spend a couple days or one day in 5 star hotels. I
recommend you to go to café/restaurant. Although, just buy a drink, you can see
how beautiful kaleidoscopic sunset in Bali. This is my favorites, Warung
Restaurant (Part of the sensational Alila Uluwatu Resort), Jumana (Part of the
stunning Banyan Tree Resort), Potato Head Beach Club and La Plancha.
10. Enjoy the Bali Beaches
Bali
have a many beaches, but doesn’t have the greatest beaches. However, some are
worth mentioning. The best beaches in Bali are Mengiat Beach, Geger Beach,
Jimbaran Beach, Pandawa Beach, Legian Beach and the beaches around Sanur. If you’re dreaming
of picture white sandy beaches and zure waters, you’d better leave the main
island of Bali and hop on a boat to nearby island. Popular gateways are Nusa
Lembongan and Nusa Penida. These 3 island are home to unspoilt nature, world
class snorkeling and diving and rich flora and fauna. Nusa lembongan is tourist
friendly, and Nusa Penida is still virgin and worth to be explored.
That’s
all my BALI bucket list. If you have a plan going to bali, I hope you’ll have a
fabulous trip ! and above all the things I suggest to you, don’t forget to meet
and interact with the local. They’re such a kind people.
IMHO,
Check the Balinese calendar for ceremonies or get the hotel or villa staff to
see a local ceremony.
I’d
like to say thanks for coming to my blog and staying here until the end of this
article. I hope it can helps you. I appreciate !
Happy
Travels, Teman 😁
